fired for doing what I’m told
I just lost probably the best job I'll have in a while because my boss can't decide what he wants. I work(ed) at a high end auto shop. If I did an oil change, I would tighten the drain plus in such a way that there is no chance of a leak. TIGHT, yet not gorilla grip tight. Boss says that's too tight, gotta loosen them up a bit so the next guy can get them off. (Which is bull because I've done an oil change twice in a row on the same car and I've been able to get it off no problem, but I digress) so I loosen them up a bit. Not loose enough to leak, but tight enough it doesn't leak. Nope. ThAtS tOo LoOsE. 3 times of back and forth between the two and I'm out on my ass. Thanks for nothing d-bag
Good worker gone bad
I try to be the great worker that comes in on time every day and I get all of my work done. However, the only things that gets noticed is when I mess up or when I take a quick break after everything is done. Most of my coworkers are notably bad at their jobs and it’s rarely addressed. They come in an hour late, hide in the storage rooms, go outside for smokes, and barely help at all. I’ve gotten to the point where I’m becoming them. I stopped doing extra work, I stopped offering help, I even come in late a lot more. Now I fit right in 🤦️ although I still do my work. Every job I’ve had where I try to be a great employee I just end up getting exploited. I want to do my job but I didn’t sign up to do everyone else’s…
I started working at Little Ceasars(LC) about a month ago and have been getting good hours. I got hired whenever no manager was over the location just a couple SHift Leaders. But as of yesterday(YESTERDAY) we have a new permanent manager. One of the shift leaders has been harassing me about my sexuality over the past couple of weeks, and somehow the new manager found out. She pulled some strings and got a report going. she pulled me aside and threatened to tell my mom about my sexuality if i did not formally write down or text her the information on the circumstance between me and the SL that had been harasssing me.
I can’t take a paid sick leave??
This question is for Ontario Canadians. I’m a salary employee with my organization. I have to take a 1 week off for medical reason with a doctor note. Now my employer is saying I have to use up my PTO and vacation days, or take unpaid time off, rather than sick leave. Apparently there is no company sick leave policy. From what I checked online, and from my experience at previous employers, sick leave days are always different from PTO and vacation. You can pretty much take unlimited sick time because it would eventually fall under an insurance claim of short or long term disability. Now this is only 5 days so it won’t qualify for short term disability. Is my employer required to pay my salary during medical leave with doctor note?

So I live in Texas and I serve in an Asian restaurant. Today they came up with a new rule that we are not allowed to sit down at all during our shift (6-12 hours) is this legal?
Not a loaded question. Genuinely curious. I for one would focus much more time on exercise and mental well being.
