I see time and time again about salary people having to work overtime but being “exempt” from overtime pay (and have experienced it), and I’ve had a variety of salaried and hourly jobs. I work at a small pet food store in Canada. I accepted the job offer from my mother after they were suffering from sudden understaffing (worker got sick, another switched to part time for school and later quit) and so they needed a temp worker while things worked themselves out. I felt responsible since with only 2 workers available, my mother had no days off, and people wouldn't shut up about how my non-existent job hunt was going anyway, so I went. Hello everyone I need help to report this job when I leave. I just started this job three weeks ago and it is one of the most unethical places I've ever worked at. I applied to this job for a different position working in x-rays. These people own clinics and research facilities. I applied to the clinic portion and the boss told me that his research department would better suit me and I would be working on research dealing with x-rays.
