My boss won’t fire a toxic mfer.

I work for a small family owned company where I'm a mechanical engineer/project manager. I have been dealing with this one toxic machinist who has slowly turned everyone against me. My boss (is the owner btw) says that this same individual has done the same to him. Even though everyone hates my guts, they all still say this guy's a toxic biatch. My boss has told me repeatedly that this dude is an asshole. He has even made racist remarks about my religion (I'm Muslim, he's not). The big issue is my boss who is a Christian believes heavily in patience at every cost. Like literally he believes that christ is telling him to save this dude. This is no excuse on his part, I've seen the way my boss does business and this is literally how he is. He is a very good guy and just a good human…

Is it okay to report toxic work experience during notice period? Please suggest

Hello folks, I have experienced toxic work culture in my current job. Manager and one more person have falsely mentioned about my low performance and accused few other wrong things which are baseless and I have shown them the proof as well that those claims were wrong. So I believe they wanted me to move out so they had come up with some plan of wrong claims. Would like to hear your thoughts on the following points. They are assigning me work in my notice period & asking me daily update. This is deliberate. Honestly I have lost zeal to work in the notice period and since they mentioned my work is not good then why should I work in notice period? Do you think its bad to say no to work since my moral went down after all this. Is it okay to report these folks to HR/Founder? Would…

“Working On” Changing My Schedule

I work as a behavioral therapist and I have 4 clients. Previously, I’ve had Tuesday afternoons off consistently for things like appointments and time to work on school, as I’m a graduate student as well. My OM asked if I could add a client to my Tuesday afternoons, and I said yes as long as my availability changes elsewhere (i.e. cutting some sessions with one of my other clients, either mornings or evenings). My mistake, I suppose! Well, jump cut to this week and that client HAS been added to my schedule, but none of my other availability has changed. No sessions have been removed despite my making it clear that that was a condition. Yesterday I asked my OM about it, and she just said that they’re “working on it”. I’m worried that they will end up stringing me along with promises of “working on it” while still getting…

The Military made me believe in universal basic income

I was against it for a very long time when I was young but after experiencing something liken to it having a 100% rating from the VA from military service I wish it was available to everyone. Long story short is I served 6yrs in a non-combat MOS and transitioned out with a bachelors degree and enough medical issues for a 100% VA rating which is worth about $50k/yr in guaranteed income for life, full health/dental benefits for myself and dependents, exempt property taxes etc. My life is incredibly stress free knowing that if I lose my job tomorrow, I’ll always have some form of income to more than cover my bills, keep a roof over my kids heads and cover any of their medical needs. Just life basics to stay out of poverty. I feel it also makes me far more productive at “work”. Largely because I have the…
