I (25M) clean this office. The people who work at the office has begun to stare at me, a lot. There is this woman in particular who stares at me and she keeps staring me right into my eyeballs and doesn’t look away or smile, and before you ask, no she isn’t blind. Some of my coworkers, kitchen lady A service technician, and administrator is also doing this. I don’t talk much and keep to myself with the office “workers” I’ve tried being social but people either mock me or say that they “feel like I don’t want to be there” or that I am not interested in my job. My coworkers give me a feeling that they don’t want me to there anymore. My coworkers makes fun of my appearance calling me a woman because of my long hair. But whenever I make jokes they act offended even if…
So i just quit after 2 years of intense work and burnout, and am starting to feel like the entire time i went into autopilot/survival mode and forgot about what i actually enjoyed in my life. Feels like i’ve gotten my personality back now (at the expense of unemployment, at least for now). Anyone else quit/leave a job and feel a weird mix of financial uncertainty but complete freedom at the same time? Also side rant, but the 5 day work week feels like a literal con – i thought technology was meant to make the work week shorter, but instead people are working longer than ever! Makes me want to go live in a cabin in the woods somewhere far away from the corporate world, but i’m also mad at myself for being so dependent on the system 🙁 I would probably be terrible at surviving off the grid,…

What would you do if someone is bullying you and making you feel bad emotionally in the workplace?
Without giving away too many details, my niece works at a gas station, there was a hit and run. A man was injured and did not live. She comforted him and held him until the ambulance arrived. She's afraid to ask her boss for a few days off of work. I'm tempted to call her boss and threaten legal action unless she gets two days off, preferably paid. This is insane right, she held a man until he died. She's very young, not even 20. The man who committed the hit and run has actually done this before and the owner is aware. Perhaps I could use this as leverage? I'm looking for serious advice. Not just “work hate”.
It’s a song from the Cyberpunk 2077 game. Here’s the first verse to give you a taste. Get me fired up and raging every time: Lost another day to pointless drudgery The slow chipping away of my autonomy A rodent in a race unsung and underpaid My colleagues seem to me like slaves in sheep-array Then a shock goes through the herd at the nauseating purr Of the corpos of the world when the content is secured Cause they’re naked emperors hear the rattling of the purse I hunger for the hearse cause nothing could be worse Than a life lived as a limb in a debt anatomy Rather be dead than a link in a chain of tyranny Check it out.
I’m on my final write up due to performance and the last time I called out of work was in November when I had covid (which was excused). I need to call off because I mixed up days for an event I bought tickets to and can’t a refund on, and already asked people to cover with no luck. The issue is I received my final write up last week, and the event is Monday. I can’t even bother to let my manager know because all he’ll say is there’s nothing he can do (i know this based off previous experience of asking him for a day off that I had scheduled).
Had some people dropping off some equipment and the boss man wanted to brag about how good one of his employees is. Said he started working for him after they quit someone else who didn't want to pay shit. His words. Told me he was happy to have the employee and that he was paying him 15 an hour like it was some huge amount. I was trying not to laugh and just said that wouldn't even get me out of bed turned around and walked away.
