Advice for Quitting a a Toxic Job?

I made the decision to move out of state because where I currently live has become unaffordable. I’m telling my job in a few days and trying to mentally prepare for myself. I’m going to ask to go remote but I already know the answer is no. This company has been referring to me as a manager for the past 6 months, but I do not have the official manager title or pay. I’ve also been working on a huge project, but I’m letting them know I’m leaving after the project is finished. The last manager that left with a notice was shunned and the CEO threw a fit. I know nobody at the company will see this coming. *Before anyone asks, I’m extremely grateful to have a husband who can support both of us while I’m looking for a new job, so I’ll be able to move regardless of…

Employer is trying to sign my partner up for short term disability rather than severance

[lawyers have been contacted] My partner asked for FMLA leave for burnout at the beginning of February which was given to others at their org. They were granted the 3 weeks they requested. In the same meeting they were told that their position had run out of funding and that they would not have a job when they came back from leave. They then got a severance agreement that read like an NDA and is only 1/2 months pay after being at this org for 3 years. NOW they get an email from their employer that they need to submit more documents for short term disability- something they never requested. It feels like the employer wants my partner on short term disability rather than give them severance. Anyone have experience with this? On top of the legal logistics it’s a lot to handle emotionally and wondering if anyone had some…

A diamond in the rough

I work in IT and in 2020, my company was bought out and the new manager wanted a 1-on-1 to discuss my salary. He stated a general rule, they push a 3% living wage increase yearly but they noticed my salary was lower than the industry average for my area. They bumped me to a near 6% increase. I was pleasently surprised and continued my work. 11 months later I found a near idententical job at a non-profit I love volunteering for. It was a slight pay drop. I was very excited about the opportunity to work in my field helping support this organization. The job I left was a great job, I was challenged to learn, and my coworkers were decent humans. I left excited about the new work and worked for them for 2 years when my wife and I decided I had done my part. I have…

Tried to talk to a coworker about their pay, got told it’s none of my business and to piss off

Spent the rest of my shift crying cause I'm just an autistic dummy who can barely communicate with people I just wanted to know if I was getting less than them 🙁 I ended up turning in my resignation cause I can't do it anymore This was a service job, and we both work the same job for context.
