On Monday, a scammer reached out directly to an HR my employer pretending to be me and said my banking information had changed. The HR rep did not notice that the email was not from my email address, didn't have my name in the email address, or that the email address was from an inbox . ru domain. Today I went to check my account and my paycheck is missing. Come to find out this all went down earlier in the week and I was not asked once if that was me emailing to change my bank account info. Luckily I did some digging and found out that my identity hadn't been stolen but the scammer was using a metabank/pathward routing and account number, routing it to a moneylion account that didn't have any of my personal information tied to it (LUCKILY). Hi! Just ranting and venting. I'm an electrician. I worked in a casino today. It was full of cigarette smoke, depressing people, claustrophobic environment, and extremely dangerous to do the work. I've told my employer I won't be coming back for this reason. He hasn't responded yet. I value my health more than this crap. Can I get fired for this in your opinion?

Working at a busy restaurant is begging for moments; begging coworkers to not slow down per se, but to just take the half a breath to not panic, not make mistakes, and have fun at work. The sacrifice fetish of some of these puritan WASPs makes me crazy. I understand the need for speed; the need to sacrifice quality for speed to a certain extent. But I'm not looking to sacrifice quality of life or peace of mind just to feed some hungry human who thinks all they need for respect is money. The plan is to work hard; not leave without at least two weeks notice; not leave at least until I have another job lined up. Just sucks it could be such a fun job I'd want to keep for much longer if only my coworkers weren't sick with people pleasing to the point they think speed justifies…
