My boss is a hypocrite, and I have had enough of it. It’s too much detail to get in to, but my boss is a hypocrite, and after talking about it to my parents, I have come to the conclusion that it would be better if I let my boss get away with that, because if I were to get another job (which I intent on doing in a month or two) it might hurt me, because my future boss could ask for references, and he wouldn’t be very happy about what my current boss tells him. However, I’m a member of the union, and I simply won’t stand for my boss’ hypocrisy. What can I do about this? Should I contact the union? Or is there another solution to this problem? Surely my boss can’t just get away with being so hypocritical?

I am currently out of work going on 5 months and usually make a good living (but still paycheck to paycheck) However, I think my age (55), and a few other factors are causing the silence in my current job search. I have the opportunity to make enough money that it looks like I will beat unemployment by may be $500 a month On the other hand, this means I will be less available to interview if I actually do get interviews. In general things will be harder schedule. Currently every penny of unemployment $ is going to CORBA health insurance (can’t do Medi-cal for complicated reasons). Im the breadwinner. I have an autistic child and another neurotypical teen boy. So mom is the full time caregiver for our autistic son and really can’t get into the workforce. Should I take the job? Hours also may suck. Let’s say an issue happens at work and they are trying to find who caused the issue. I’m off the clock and they try to call me to ask me some questions. Whether I happen to cause the issue or not, any work-related person, at my job, can not speak with me until I clock back in the next day, correct?
