Well It’s Going To Get Worse!!
What is a better system than capitalism?
I think the issue of capitalism is more intricate than we think. Human greed will always be a factor, throughout history has there ever been a better alternative than capitalism?
First off I want to say this is my second job because capitalism… Anyways, they don't only put the time clock past security, security is a walk after another checkpoint. The first one is just a badge scan, but then it takes 5-15 minutes of walking to get to the second set, depending on if you're going straight to work, or dropping off lunch/backpack/personal items you don't want on the floor with you. Is this considered stealing time from employees? The only reason I'm asking is because now I'm being targeted because I'm not right back to work 30 minutes after my break starts. I'm in Kentucky if that helps.
Say you have interviews lined up while you try to uphold a shitty job. It means calling out or coming in late. It’s not an absolute guarantee that you can land any of these jobs. Would it be more worth it to secure and prioritize your job but risking losing opportunities to see and obtain better employment elsewhere… orrrr is it better to take risks to see these new potential employers but also risking to get fired? Does “sunk-cost fallacy” applies here?
I’m so tired of begging for hours
I recently started a new job because I couldn’t get the hours i needed at my previous one despite loving it. I couldn’t afford to work there. When i interviewed at my new job they told me they liked that I was available and wanted me to be available as much as possible for call ins and hours, which I agreed to. I told them during the interview that I needed 30-40 a week to pay my bills and there was no indication that was an issue. It’s a low level Management position so I assumed I’d be set just based on that. I got my schedule yesterday and had 14 hours. I had to beg my boss for hours and explain the above paragraph again, And they penciled me In for an extra 13. Apparently they hired a bunch of people and cut everyone’s hours in the process, but…
Its usually a life, that was willingly, sold away to a go along, to get along existence at all costs. I have heard countless “busy schedule” rants from ppl and its all at best social validation gone wild over fear of being viewed as inadequate. The irony? All these “busy schedules” are robbing you of free-time and disposable income, by stretching your life thinner and thinner, that in turn almost guarantees you will be working longer and harder over flim flam at best until your last days. Your suffering in life is biochemical reactions at best.
