I often go back and forth telling myself that I don’t need others validation to tell up I’m doing my tasks with completion and correctly. Sometimes, it does feel nice having a colleague tell me that I’m doing a great job but I’ve learned to not fully get upset by it or get to hung up on it lately.

Hello all, There was a survey done in our company and at the end they addressed people's concerns about pay. They showed a pie chart that broke it down. About 75% of the company spends funds on workers pay, like 20% on our Healthcare benefits, and claim they only make a 5% profit and cannot afford to raise wages. We are all remote and they still lease out a giant space near downtown and no one is ever there, and they are even renovating it! How likely do you think this pie chart is bullshit? I make 38k a year so I'm struggling, half of my income goes to my rent alone. I can't save any money. Edit: Company helps with sales, marketing and merchandising for big retail giants.

I think everyone should consider language — and start talking about a dying wage – a DEATH WAGE – a PRO_DEATH_WAGE or THE INVERSE A PRO-LIFE WAGE. A wage that will kill you. In another sub i'm in, we starting using the words “HOUSE HOLD investor, instead of RETAIL, because it is more appropriate, and sends a message. DYING WAGE: Ask anyone, if you see someone, anyone, should they earn a living wage, or dying wage? If they work 40 hours a week, to support a business, should they earn a LIVING OR DYING WAGE? A wage that will kill them, make them sick, become homeless, live in a tent, be abused? Apparently a man was reading in the break room. A woman colleague asked if he likes reading and he said yes. Apparently that creeped her out enough to report him to HR. Then he was reprimanded. I thought he must've been reading something really creepy so I sided with her until I found out that she didn't even know what the book was. Turned out to be just a regular fictional book. Idk was this a bit out of line? It seemed a bit much? Opinions?
