scared to turn in 2 weeks
so ive been ready to quit this job for a month now – my manager is rude and belittling to me, i have never gotten an ounce of praise from her, and last shift i got a write up for something i didnt know about. im fed up and i cant keep coming into work with anxiety attacks every single time i see my manager. thing is, im absolutely terrified to give her my two weeks. my anxiety stems from her getting mad at me (childhood trauma, wont go into it, but she absolutely triggers it and i turn into a frozen mess whenever she looks at me.) i want to leave, and i know i would be happier leaving, but the thought of her yelling at me for quitting scares me to my core. does anyone have any advice for this? i know it would be more professional to…

Belated Door Prizes
In December, we were tasked with decorating our housekeeping room doors (janitorial at a nursing home) as part of a contest the health region was having “to boost morale”. We had to decorate the doors on our own time, using our own resources. Almost three months later, there are some half-stale carrot muffins in the housekeeping room with a post-it from our boss saying “Muffins for xmas door decorating. Sorry so late, didn't know I was supposed to get them.” …Maybe if management was useful and on the ball once in a while, we might actually HAVE morale.
Lowered my pay with not notice
I work as a paraprofessional in special education. My job is absolutely exhausting. I work with over 50 students with unique and varying disabilities. Last school year my pay was correct according to the contract and job title was accurate to the job I applied for. At the beginning of this school year, my pay was lowered without any notice. When I asked why, I was told it was because the classroom I worked in wasn’t considered a special education position for the paraprofessional. My union is fighting it. This month I was offered a position in a classroom that they consider special education. This same month my job title was changed from “special education assistant” to just “instructional assistant”. The job duties between the two classrooms are completely identical on paper. How can they possible think it’s legal to change my job title and pay when all my duties…
So I worked for Starbucks over the last 10 years until 2019 when I went to a different career. I ended up working with this one manager who was a real witch and was inappropriate towards me and others and I called her out on it and reported her to the Labor board in the state and the company. It never went everywhere and the District Manager covered for her and ignored my complaints. She was eventually fired anyways but not before putting in the most horrid complaints about me on my record, making me ineligible for rehire. You just can’t win. You can do all the right things and try to defend yourself and your job will still support your evil managers who would rather make their employees uncomfortable and touch them and make remakes on their gender instead. This world is fucked.
I’m a software engineer at one of the huge companies you’ve seen in the news lately that is in the process of laying off thousands and thousands of employees. I have not been lucky enough to be laid off, but my entire team of a dozen engineers has been “redeployed”. We were all given a new job on Wednesday together on a completely different team that is currently run by only 4 people. My current boss and his boss are no longer managers, and will work alongside us (we loved these managers. Really were good.). Our new management has told us to expect startup like culture, and brags about getting on on-call issues at 2am, like that’s some sort of selling point. We then learn this new team is a total fucking mess (and by the way… nobody asked to join this team). The company is not sending out an…
I think my supervisor is setting me up.
I work at a private school as a custodian and was waiting to get proper training on the backpack vacuum as they’d moved from dust mops to vacuums only which was a change. I’ve been here for five years and the supervisor is new and had been here for a year. Well my supervisor told me on Monday he would train me as I’d been missing some things and said I needed to wait until Thursday or Friday for him to be there to train me properly. Well on Thursday he did an inspection of my building instead of training me, and had my manager and director come with him to scold me for not vacuuming properly which caught me off guard. My director at first sounded like he was going to fire me for not doing my job, I had to remind my supervisor that he specifically told me…
