The “hard working” Millionaire/Billionaire is just a scam to make the average Joe work harder

“Oh Elon Musk so smart so hard working so good”. Or Bill or Bezos or the 10 000 other rich bastards. “If you just worked as hard as them you would be rich too” – BS! Let me tell you a little secret: Most of these people are not where they are because they are smarter or better or working harder. Most of these people are where they are because of luck and because starting into life with an amount of capital most people dont earn in their entire life. Elons dad had an emeral mine and his mother was a famous model – thats allready being in the top 1% or even 0,5%. Bezos got a 300 000 Dollars loan from his parent – thats worth 600 000 today – and his grandfather owned like a 10 000 acres of land. Thats allready being in the top 1% or…

Where do you need to live if you are antiwork?

Work is an important aspect of life that provides purpose, structure, and financial stability. However, if you are looking for places that may align with your beliefs, you might consider communities or cities that have a strong focus on work-life balance, social welfare programs, or alternative forms of employment. Cities with a focus on work-life balance: Some cities prioritize work-life balance and promote a healthier lifestyle by encouraging employees to take breaks, reduce working hours, and providing flexible schedules. For example, cities like Copenhagen, Oslo, and Amsterdam are known for promoting work-life balance and may be a good fit for those who are anti-work. Communities with alternative forms of employment: There are communities that embrace alternative forms of employment such as co-ops, collectives, or worker-owned businesses, where the employees have more control over the work environment and decision-making processes. Cities like Barcelona, Spain, and Bologna, Italy, have implemented successful co-op…

How should I have handled this?

I work in a law office and part of my job is to process client documents pertaining to their case (scan everything into pdf) and send it to the attorney. Today a client brought in a box of documents and I started processing them. The documents were in bad shape. Many looked water logged. It took about 2 1/2 hours to process everything. About an hour in I started breaking out in hives and my eyes got red and started to swell. I finished processing everything anyway and warned the legal assistant not to handle the documents without gloves and long sleeves. Now I’m itching like crazy and my right eyelid is very swollen. This probably won’t happen again, but if it does, how do I protect myself knowing if I don’t do it someone else in the office will have to. TIA!

Client wants 24/7 support, not in my contract

Myself and 3 colleagues are stationed at an ‘important client’ in day shift mo-fri. Been like that for years. Client now demands 24/7 support if something happens and behind our backs its apparently already discussed with our manager and union. I never signed up for this neither my other colleagues except the oldest one who thinks its ‘normal’ to provide good service even working 12hr shifts, extra weekends. My wife works in 5 shift and weekends, holidays. We have 3 kids with their hobbies etc… This is impossible. Can my employer just do this ? I’m in Belgium. The unions don’t give a damn, they just sit on their desks 2 days a week on appointment. All that matters apparently is how many hours they can charge.

Employer is paying me below minimum wage & never gave me a promised Christmas bonus- advice?

So I live in Virginia and I’m a part time receptionist at a dog kennel. I’ve been looking through my paychecks recently and noticed that despite my state’s minimum wage going up to $12 on January 1st of this year, I’m still only getting paid $11 an hour. I’m missing about $200 from the paychecks that I’ve gotten this year and while that isn’t a lot it’s still substantial enough that I’m upset about it. I was almost promised in-writing that I would receive a Christmas bonus, but I never did. I’ve gotten 4 paychecks since the year started so I don’t think it’s an issue of the paychecks just not catching up or anything. My brother, who also works here (albeit in a different position) has been getting $12 an hour since the year started, although he also never received a Christmas bonus. While I’m fairly certain that paying…
