The amount of work is just endless and neverending. When I call in sick for a few days my boss treats me like a criminal and expects me to work from home anyway. I used up most of my vaccation days and have just 1 week left. And I cannot afford to be unemployed and I am not allowed to reduce my hours. So by this point I pray everyday to be involved in some form of accident that prevents me to go to work. Even a mid level injury that would force me to be a few weeks in the hospital/at home would be welcome. As long as its nothing permanent. Thats how desperate I am. I just cant go on like this.

Let's deprecate Human Resources departments.Mint a 🟨 NFT to an employee when they fuck up.Mint a 🟥 NFT to an employee (and burn the 🟨 NFT) when they've already fucked up before. It even emits an EmployeeFired event to let the entire blockchain know when someone is fired. pic.twitter.com/8e5wxhxVpv— Harrison (@PopPunkOnChain) February 25, 2023
So my husband got a call last night from the owner of the company he works for stating that one of the employees called him complaining that my husband was discussing his salary. My husband swears up and down that he wasn’t. He just started this job at the end of December, we moved our family and 2 little infants 3 states away for the position that he took. Things have been going great out here but we came to the conclusion that the place we moved to isn’t for us. My husband requested a transfer back home to a new project they have starting up in the state that we originally moved from so we have been in the process of waiting to start transferring back home which would take 2 months from now. My husband had made a friend at work who we then started hanging out with…

I quit my part time job on the 4th day that our paychecks were late. They ended up being 5 days late total. We were supposed to get paid on Friday. They “didn’t process it in time” and it was supposed to come Monday. Until an employee pointed out Monday was a holiday and the owners nonchalantly said “Oh yeah Tuesday then” Still no paystub has been generated on Tuesday morning. We all wake up and surprise! No direct deposit. The owners state this is a problem with the payroll company and “they aren’t going to do anything to help because it’s not their fault”. We are told we will get paid on Wednesday. We wake up to no direct deposit on Wednesday. They scramble around and somehow the deposit shows up at about 4pm. During this disaster anytime anyone sends a message about this to the company group chat…
Wow, the fact you are young and not tall gets you disrespected even at a YMCA. Making me really leave subcontractor, leave YMCA and go die after having no money when it runs out. Unbelievable.
Tl;dr if a company doesn’t accept applications through job sites, save your breath bc every single one of those jobs are hell. Some background: I (26m) have worked retail jobs since fresh out of high school. I’ve done almost all types you can think of from bagger to cashier to my current job which is sales (IE selling furniture, cars, etc. that type of work). Out of all those types of jobs, the ones that are more stressful and anxiety inducing are the ones that outright to refuse any application that isn’t directly from their own career site. If a job doesn’t accept your resume and application through third party such as indeed.com, DO NOT APPLY. Those types of companies want you to jump through their hoops to get someone that will do whatever they can to please their superiors. It’s a disgusting tactic that a lot of AAA companies…
I work at a startup since June 2022 got laid off suddenly. I am an international student on OPT visa and this means I only have 40 days of unemployment remaining till I have to leave the US The call I was fired on (very unprofessionally) was meant to be a coffee catch up so I was very blindsided to think clearly They stated in my signed contract that they would give me a raise within 3 months of my employment. I didn’t get that and was told I would get it in January. Didn’t get that either so essentially they went against a legally binding contract When I was hired, I was told by the CEO (without me asking) that they would help me apply for my H1B visa. Now is the moment to apply for the lotter, they really timed this. The founders themselves are international & they…
