So there was a leader of another department who was notoriously uncooperative, lying publicly humiliating, threatening… my boss enabled him. I had to work with this guy, but he hated me for being honest with data, because it made him look bad. So he would refuse to cooperate and would make a scene. One time this guy yelled at me for 15min straight in a meeting. After allowing me 3min to explain my position, he agreed with what I was saying afterall. I brought it up with my boss and she blamed me for the rant. Tip of the iceberg. Today I resigned. I informed her the reason I was leaving was a) unprofessional behavior, and b) her enablement of this unprofessional behavior. There was defensiveness. Meanwhile, colleagues from across departments acknowledged the situation and the issue with the current status quo. I've helped to prepare the company for a…

Affordable housing
(Apologies if this isn't the right place for this kind of post, I'm typically a lurker here.) What it says on the tin! No specific details provided for the sake of personal privacy, but don't worry, I'm (luckily) not in a position where I have to fear retaliation even if work somehow did trace me through this account. I was surprised a few months ago to find out there was a union I could join for my current part time job. After poking around the website a bit, I reached out with some questions and had a chat with a rep today. It went great, he was super nice and helpful, and after I hopped off zoom I signed myself up. I'm looking forward to getting to be a part of a community actually looking to help make change. I'm very happy with my current employment situation, but knowing someone…
Laid Off W/ No Severance
I currently work as tech support for one of the top 5 largest and most profitable companies in the world and did not receive severance. I with some of my colleagues were all unexpectedly laid off. I am employed at this company through a third party vendor that provides them with tech support for their most profitable service. The Lay offs were not do to performance (which was made clear). The job market being as volatile as it is I am very unsure how I am going to survive these next few months as we were underpaid so I have not had the chance to accrue much savings. I have spoke with HR and they have told us “its just not in the budget to provide severance”. I want to continue to push back if anyone has any advice to negotiate for severance or what I should do please advise.…

Withhold Your Input
I just remembered this. So back when I was working at this grocery store called “Save A Lot.” Would not recommend it btw. I wasn’t in the best mindset but I couldn’t find it in myself to quit. The customers made me miserable but the managers were chill as hell and cool, so I stayed mainly for them. I remember there was a period where I kept getting scheduled to close on Sunday’s, and I absolutely was sick of it. Mainly because I didn’t want to miss spending time with my family. We always do lots of things on sundays like going out to eat, cookouts, gatherings, etc. I would have to miss them, or leave early because I had to work. Sucked. So I wanted to take advantage of the flexible scheduling they offered. I wanted to change my availability to no sundays at all. I don’t care if…
