Spain probed the accounting Big Four
Everyone knows that these companies are meat grinders with not respect for labor laws. Hopefully they will get fined big time and forced to change their way of working. Link: https://www.ft.com/content/01004a13-6f7e-44da-9823-3851af6d76fe
My position was eliminated but I'm the only person who does what I do for the company. Essentially they are keeping me on for a few more weeks to train someone in an existing position how to do my job since my position “doesn't exist” anymore. I'm getting a severance so I'm going to keep working until my term date. What would you do? Would you keep working really hard? Would you slack off? It's weird still working because it doesn't matter what I do anymore.
Looks like I’m about to be laid off…
Worked for a large tech company for over ten years, we have lay offs every year – last year they decimated 90% of my team and restructured but it looks like there will be another severe round in the next few weeks. Best part is, company keeps telling us “not to worry about it” despite it being a fact it is happening AND it being in the press before anything official has been announced. Any advice for those who have been through the same on what to consider?
Seen in SW Michigan
There was a single waitress, waiting on the entire restaurant, as well as running the bar. Mr. Manager was just leaning against the doorframe to the kitchen, watching the football game. Girl, get out of there.
I thought I heard somewhere that working from home is way more efficient.
I have fulfill my end of the social contract or I'm homeless, in jail or dead. However, companies can throw thousands of workers into the street because they get to increase their bottom line. So why should I take my obligation to be a good worker/citizen seriously when society and the companies that run it demand I be a good worker/citizen can, and most likely will, treat me with zero respect?
write ups are dumb
I left my previous job about two months ago on good terms with them and everything was fine, but I just checked my bank account and they sent me 2k out of nowhere. Is it possibly money I'm owed from vacation days/retirement plan contributions or will I have to constantly hold onto this money in case they ask for it back?
