My company is claiming that they will dock our performance ratings at year end or even fire us if we don't go in an average of 3 days a week. This us a very large company that had a “soft” RTO policy last year (not really enforced) but this year they claim that they're cracking down and enforcing it. For context, a lot of us were WFH before the pandemic, and even when we are in the office, we are spread out all over the country. They only know if we come in by checking badge scans. So this isn't an in person collaboration or in person management/mentoring thing. My boss lives in another state and her boss lives in a different state. I have one coworker who lives in my area but she reports to a different office across town. I ask because I'm sick of going to an…

For me, I'd say Money, Money, Money by ABBA
From the Twits..
Nailed my interviews and received the official job offer on a Friday. I said I'd give my official answer the following week but was leaning towards taking it. So Monday rolls around and I email the dept manager some followup questions about the job. I also mention that I have a medical card in case there's a drug test I have to take. Basically every job I've had as an adult you couldn't do high without risk of a bad time (death), so that to me suggests that I'm clearly not doing that. I got an email back that the dept manager got my email and was catching up on some stuff but would be getting back to me by the end of the day. That was like 10 days ago. As marijuana medical or otherwise is becoming legal, why have some companies maintained zero tolerance policies? It's known to…
Woman had me arrested at work
For context I live in a somewhat small town and there’s only a handful of sit down restaurants so we get a lot of regulars. On Tuesday night I was working and this lady who was in another server’s section called the police on me because I had a warrant for failing to appear on a misdemeanor court date I had no idea about. I guess once a month these are posted in the newspaper and she took it upon herself to report my whereabouts. I don’t know for sure but I think she asked someone my name, because I didn’t even know she did it until the police showed up. It was horribly embarrassing even though they tried to not make a huge scene. The woman was filming me and seemed to be bragging about what she did to other people around. I was not fired luckily even though…
Everywhere you look workers are expected to take cuts right now. Rising interest rates are intended to increase layoffs, force people to return to offices and suppress wage growth. In addition the retirement age for social security is going to be going up while life expectancy in this country is going down. But the defense budget is about to increase. I think this could be the spark everyone could rally around. You can find people from all walks of life who believe the U.S. spends too much on the military… including active military members. There isn't an exact date yet but it seems guaranteed it'll pass before the debt ceiling is raised and it looks like the latest that'll happen is in June. Wouldn't have to be all at once either. I'm not trying to get people in precarious financial positions and no vacation or sick days to risk everything…
Pretty much the title… This is a seasonal job where I make really good money and when I left last year I was told I just had to notify HR and I’d be put back on the schedule, so I set things in motion and move down here but new management has taken over and they are making me re-interview. That’s already a headache but I had an interview scheduled for 330 is literally on Google calendar scheduled by the HR lady with two other staff members and one of them has left for the day and the other one apparently is finishing up with another interview which makes no sense since mine was scheduled. I literally need this job
