My boss used to be cool and tell me I did a good job and I felt motivated. He was open about things then one day I feel like everyones out to get me and he says we'll its just a job. Not to me I have mental issues and responsibilities. I was slacking I'm not gonna lie taking too long of breaks but everyone was trying to screw me over saying things like I stink then suspended me for smoking bathroom and I dont even smoke and said they would take further action but there's no way to prove I didn't do it then said it sensor went off and that thats proof even though I said machines are fallible. He's apparently joined church takes drone pictures for church and his wife plays and sings at church on piano. But he said things like your not doing your job…

Objectionable Training Director
Recently, moved back to the States after a period away. The guy at my new company is objectionable to say the least. He has nicknames for most coworkers. The gay guy is referred to as ‘cupcake’, the member of the transgender community is called, ‘trans fat’ and a younger woman is called, ‘the blond piece.’ The other day when someone came in bandaged up he made a ‘joke’ about him entering the ‘Special Olympics’ with a coworker who has physical disabilities. This guy is responsible for writing appraisals for all the people mentioned.
” … who is able to be onsite for occasional team meetings or urgent matters.” Response, excluding the bait-and-switch remote position for on-site: To hold in-person team meetings during a health pandemic, especially with widely available high-speed Internet, demonstrates an irresponsible lack of consideration for employees’ well-being. While I appreciate the update, kindly consider my application withdrawn. Has anyone else seen companies pulling this?
I started a new copywriting remote job last week – and they said WE manage our hours and schedule and that it is flexible remote. I asked about workflow and etc they had none. Told me I can work 25 hours a week, which I did last week and delivered everything they asked for… Today I get a call from the CEO and he says my hours don’t match what the work on the Drive and that it’s time theft to claim hours that weren’t worked. I WAS ACTUALLY working them… so they gave me a warning and want to micro manage everything I’m doing.
First off I'm located in California. My company is requiring everyone to attend a mental health check in with HR after last week they gave out shit raises during one of the highest points of inflation in years and the whole office had a reasonably angry response to it and many are ready to quit. Is this legal for them to require us to attend these mental health check ins with HR of all people?
My spouse suffers from severe depression and ptsd. Sunday she had a traumatic episode. I told my boss I was going to stay with my spouse because she was suicidal. I don’t think my boss even believes me because people quit on him and he thought I did too but I told him I didn’t. So if I found a local hospital, used their address/phone number/ and log. Then wrote my spouse was admitted, and that I couldn’t return to work until Monday, would I get in any trouble for using the hospital’s logo on a paper or fake dr name? I highly doubt they check in due to it being my spouse, and mental hospital, they couldn’t confirm or deny her being there. I just don’t want criminal charges. I don’t want to be fired for missing work due to my spouse’s mental health.
10¢ phone call
My dad worked for the government for years, and this story always got me. Back in the day when not everyone had a personal cell my dad had a work phone that he took on the field with him. One day when he realized that he was going to be late coming home he used it to call my mom and tell her. Fast forward to when the bill comes in. His boss calls him into his office to ask who the unknown number on the bill belonged to. Upon finding out that it was a personal call, he made my dad pay the 10¢ it cost to make. Malicious compliance, my dad wrote a cheque and took it to reception for them to cash, got a receipt and everything. So the government was paying for a manager to pour over phone call bills, paid for two employees to have…
Never trust anyone smh
Recently, I had a long time friend/mentor ask for my resume. I informed him that I would send him a copy but not to get his hopes up as I am very happy where I am at (currently). Well, a couple weeks passed and his company reached out to me…… the conversation went a little something like this…. Interviewer: why are you interested in looking for work. Me: I am looking for the next opportunity in my career. Interviewer: that was a really good corporate answer but really, why are you looking to leave? Me: I am not really too interested in leaving, I am very happy where I am at. As I said, I am looking for the next opportunity. My job is currently not challenging and I feel my skills exceed my current role. Interviewer: uhhh. Well, I am looking at your resume and I don’t see what…
