I started a new job 4 weeks ago. Probation is 6 months. I work as payroll – which HR used to handle. This job pays an ungodly amount of money for the role. However, I'm incredibly uncomfortable with a conversation HR had with me 2 weeks in & I don't know how to go about recording it because she is the only HR. HR: are you religious? Me: (completely blindsided) No I'm gay. HR: so you can't be religious? Me: I'm an atheist HR: so what do you think happens when you die? Me: …..you're dead, that's it. HR: have you ever tried going to church? Do you not feel like you're missing a sense of community? Me: not really HR: but have you tried? Me: yes, and it wasn't for me. HR: are your parents religious? Me: no, atheist HR: so have you really tried? Me: (trying very hard…

Aflac misleading “interview”
A recruiter reached out to me with a position. I thought it might be a great opportunity. I scheduled an interview that was via Zoom. When I logged on, there were several other “candidates” and then we sat through a power point presentation that was 30 minutes. They then told send us a text that’s 20 seconds long as to why you should move forward. I should have trusted my first instincts and left in the first 2 minutes. I sent the recruiter an email requesting transparency but I am so annoyed.
I'm the department head of a small office in local county government, office has 2 FT and 1 PT employee, me included. One of my employees has called out 2 days in a row because his wife's appendix ruptured and he needed to stay home to make sure kids got on the bus and other family issues. Instead of chastising him, threatening him, demanding proof of his wife's hospitalization I told him office is covered, your appointments are covered, take care of your family and wife. Because that's what good leadership is right? I feel us as a younger (I'm 41) generation gets it. As long as the show goes on, and things are handled what is the issue? It really is on us to take care of one another at the end of the day.
Technical issues for a year!!
Since January of 2022, my second monitor stopped working. Although it’s on, it won’t allow me to move my screens to that monitor. I can easily move screens to that monitor before logging into my work desktop but once I’m in ready to work, that 2nd monitor does not work for me. I have been given alternate routes to make the second monitor work, that option is gone now. I have been sent new units to connect to see if that helps…NOTHING! I have called IT and they have not a damn clue wtf is wrong so they close my case stating it’s resolved. I know it’s not my monitor that is the issue but something to do with my employee profile. I’m at a loss at this point. I have emailed IT managers, I’ve called HR, my managers seem to not give 2 shits. So, I am retaliating and…
Some BS how do I deal with this
Manager moves me to 48 hours a week because he needs someone to work sundays and all day Monday his days off, I’m at 12hr busting ass for a decent paycheck. Then today tells me to cut back my hours because another employee who has yet to even hit there 90 days is at 13hr and gets 50 hours a week. How is this fair and how do I address this
Tired of job searching…
I've found jobs that I am interested in but they are either too far away or it seems too good to be true. I don't want another retail job like the one I currently have, but I literally have no clue what job I would like. I'm tired of sifting through job descriptions and trying to figure out if it's real or not. I already have had a not so fun start to the new year, job hunting seems to make things worse. Enough of this “well people are hiring”. Yeah, people are hiring, but they either pay a crap wage or demand way too much of an employee or make you feel like a clown. (One of the descriptions I looked at mentioned that you must be able to multitask, such as rubbing your stomach and patting your head at the same time). The act of searching for a…
Protest like the French
Can someone from France let me protest with them the next time one goes down? Sadly I am from America of course so we don't really do that. I imagine you could FaceTime me on a tablet, and when a cop or bootlicker shows up, you could shove the tablet in their face and I would scream at them as hard as I possibly could. The best part is that I wouldn't even have to do any work or take beatings like actual protestors….I could eat snacks and play games until it's time for me to scream at fascists. Shit that would be awesome, id be just like Mimir from God of war.
I just quit after my first day “out in the field” as they’ll call it. I have confirmed their parent company is 99 Exposure whose parent company over them is Smart Circle. If you are in Fort Wayne and they reached out to you or you’re hired and feeling fishy about it, watch the Slave Circle Direct Marketing documentary on YouTube. It’s what they do to a T. You can also message me. I’m a former journalist who found out their company was basically a thinly veiled MLM scam after I went home on my first day Endurance Management website Endurance Management job post 1 Endurance Management job post 2 !!suspected not confirmed!! Maybe also Endurance Management job post. They change the name of the company they go under every so often, so that’s why I’m suspicious that this is also them. The vague lingo and everything. Also, no company…
