How many times in a week do you think this? But what else can we do?

Hey, is there a service where someone pretends to be HR from a different company that will phone you boss for a reference check? I hate my fucking job and wonder if they would treat me the same if he thought I was wanted elsewhere. I'm also wondering what his response would be. Writing this I realize I sound unhinged. I want to say I'm not, but an unhinged person would say that so who knows. I just need something to not be awful at my soul sucking job.

For two years, he had the majority in the Legislative branch. Now that Republicans have congress, he floats the idea of higher taxes knowing it’ll never pass congress. Is anyone really fooled by this stunt? Is there something I’m missing?

Not like doordash drivers/cyclists, they're definitely just misclassified employees. But for someone who its truly a freelancer like a contract artist. What would that group do in a general strike because they “work for themselves”?

My coworkers and I have been discussing our wages being low. The longest-working coworker says she's only gotten a raise when the minimum wage went up. She has never asked for a raise though. I was thinking of asking for one. I'm a valued employee. We recently had a whole new set of coworkers quit from the working conditions. I went to ask our new manager how much she makes. She got promoted. I found out managers make 18 dollars to our 15 dollars. Nobody gets raises. Only higher pay with the new role. I was going to ask for a two-dollar raise. But it looks like it won't happen. I would be asking for what is relatively close to my boss. I can't believe my job pays managers that.

(For those who live in a more civilized society than USA “points” are basically a system where if someone calls in or is late they get given a point or part of a point and once they accrue enough they get fired. Instead of sick days and UPT the point system is used, it is a dog shit system) Shit is fucking crazy. My work made me come in despite me calling and saying how nauseous I was. Ended up throwing up about 2 hours into the shift and they said to go home, I asked if it would cost me a point and they said “anytime someone leaves early they get deducted a point, you have to have a doctor’s note to get it excused” You’re making me go home And Is the vomit not proof already that Im not faking it? You want me to waste a doctor’s…
