I would gladly commute by walking in a beautiful city with proper public transportation and grab a coffee or pastry on the way every now and then. But what these massive companies want us to do is spend thousands a year on a vehicle that plagues our planet and minds with mindless traffic. Not to mention the violent deaths that occur everyday when someone makes the smallest mistake going 70 mph. It's not commuting, it's how we commute. I'm an American, commuting by personal vehicle is one of the worst things we ever normalized for most of the country.

My new boss is really micromanaging and strict. Every day I wonder what he will come up with and Monday he really did it in. – He wants to plan an official 1on1 with me to discuss my many sick days last year. I had a knee surgery that had me in bed and recovering for 2.5 months. Everyone knows it and I filed the documentation on time to the HR department ( sick note from surgeon as well as hospital surgery doc). He said something like ‘if you’re out a lot with burn out then the job isn’t right for you ‘. Even if I was out with a burn out it’s none of their business cause medical information is private. Just wanted to vent to the empty void. Resigned from my position yesterday and expressed my concerns over the treatment of staff and the safety of work. I am working to complete my final week. Over the past 2 days I have been ambushed by higher ups, belittled and downright disrespected in all avenues. Fuck this place. Since I've quit and in my position I have had to deal with the higher ups on a daily basis, that now means my coworkers are having to deal with them now. 3 other staff have quit as they don't want to deal with them. The remaining staff are 1 full timer and 4 casuals. Good luck to them. Hope the business flops. Vent over.

After feeling being bullied by an incompetent manager I went over their head and they are now being replaced within the next week. I am so proud. Never thought they would actually hear me out or take my side. Hell yes.

Hello everyone! As we are in r/antiwork feed, I think we need to rehabilitate the idea of socialism. Socialism is NOT Communism where people do not have private property and where everybody have the exact same or similar salary across positions (even though in reality it is just a way to abuse power) Socialism is: * Free or very affordable healthcare, educational and public transportation for all * Regulated energy prices, that are not speculated over in the stock exchange * Proper PTO (like in Europe) and different leaves (sick,maternal,paternal) * a Roof for all (Finland has done it) * Taxes proportionated to income with the restriction of optimizations * Unionized work after a certain company size (mom and pop's shops do their best to pay and survive) What do you think about it?
