What the he’ll was I thinking?!
Genuinely, I have a problem, or I'm just that unhappy working anymore. I have been in sales for over 14 years, and I had a pretty sweet job where I was making great money, but I got depressed working from home. So, I ended up quitting and had a hard time finding another job. I currently landed a job for a logistics brokerage firm that's literally hammering phone calls all day and hating my life. I apply to jobs all the time, and when I get a call on some, I re- read the role, and I hate it. I questioned why I even applied to this job. Nothing stimulates me anymore. The only peace I get is from exercising and spending time with my fiancé. I think sales just don't do it for me anymore.
Hello. Not to go into detail but I work for a dysfunctional company and it keeps getting worse as they try to “change” things. The communication is terrible and nobody is ever on the same page. I'm currently searching and applying for other jobs, but my current job is becoming unbearable. I'm at the point I would love to get let go, collect unemployment and search full time. Another user on here said they let their employer know that they were job searching and were let go and still got unemployment. They phrased it that they would continue to do their job to the best of their ability, but were actively searching for another job and that this was not their resignation. Just wanted to get more thoughts on this approach and if anyone else has tried it.
Saw this comment on someone's post about being a responsible corporation. Why are these people like this?
Why so many pro-capitalist, anti-protest, bootlickery comments and responses in here? It's almost as if many of y'all just haven't made the jump from being anti-work to understanding why we're in this position.
I did not get paid my pto
I had approved time off for a week and they did not pay me for it, when i called HR they said take the hit and i can enjoy my vacation time in the future. What should i do?
I wasn’t even late
My boss wanted me to post to hire a replacement the exact day we found out about the passing. Now, my boss is acting as if nothing happened and it's business as usual. I work for a pretty small and intimate company, so this is very jarring and weird. Feels pretty surreal. How should I realistically process this loss while also being expected to carry on as normal??
I wouldn’t say I’m missing work, Bob.
NPR posts study saying people miss their commutes? No, I do not miss my commute. No, I do not miss wasting hours of my day in traffic. No, I do not miss the stress and aggravation of idiot drivers. No, I will never go back to commuting 5 days/week. There is no amount of money (realistically) to add that stress back to my life. Yes, I can appreciate WFH does make it hard to disconnect from work sometimes, but establishing boundaries and saying “no, this can wait until tomorrow” is an acceptable answer. Another hit piece written by an “HR researchers” at Wayne State University. https://www.npr.org/sections/health-shots/2023/02/07/1154977591/study-commuting-has-an-upside-and-remote-workers-may-be-missing-out
