Boss Fires Me Behind My Back After I Asked to be a Temp

For some background, I worked for a private company escorting mobile homes. I am in the process of preparing to move out of state (moving this September). A couple of months ago, I asked my boss, who was already in the process of training another escort driver for my position for when I move, to be a temporary escort driver rather than a full time driver so I can have time to prepare for a 800 mile move out of the state (a temporary escort driver covers the full time driver during their off days). He got mad about this and called me lazy. Without even telling me personally, he tells my landlord, who does yard work for him and was the one who initially got me the job, that he will never have me work for him and that he should raise the rent on me and my roommates…

Venting…

So, I asked to go part time at my job. Boss was working me 8 days in a row with one day off over and over again. Boss said it was okay. Two weeks later I realised I messed up. Couldn't find the second job. Ask to go back to full time and wondering about a raise since its my one year soon… Boss says we'll talk about it then. Okay? Now hes scheduling me only 3 to 2 days a week now. Husband pointed out they're trying to get me to quit now because I asked for a raise…. Bruh… Im so sick of this shit.

No outside for 8 hours

I work overnights, 10pm-6am. My company has a policy that we are not, under any circumstance, allowed to go outside from 9pm to 5am. We also do not get any kind of break on an 8 hour shift. Smoker? Cant go outside. Tylenol in your car for a headache? Nope. Forgot your phone in the car? Oh well. Has anyone ever heard of this? It seems absolutely crazy to me.. almost like I am a hostage for 8 hours lol. Anyone else ever deal with this?

My boss is a boss from h*ll

I love my job but it is so taxing recently. I work in research and my current job isn’t what I went to school for. I am using this time to grow my skills and then continue into grad school. I keep telling myself I can quit any single day but never do. I come home depressed because my boss from h*ll is just doing the absolute most. She’s 60 years old and refuses to get with the times. I keep trying to help her but I guess she’s old fashioned. She bad mouths me in front of our other coworkers and recently she has been giving major attitudes in front of our clients and higher level people we work with. She gives the wrong information out to people because she cannot be bothered to learn what we do for work. I nicely correct her but she just gets mad…

Should I bother going to work tomorrow?

So i applied for an associate position at a small company. It's a 4 people office I would have been the 5th. After my interview in the office, I didn't hear back from them for 10 days, then they emailed me asking to come in for a “trial day”. Went for the trial day and it was well, and was told that they'll let me know in a couple of days. I got email from them on Friday saying “We would like to have you with us again on Monday, let us know if the time works with you” I replied back saying that it does, then asked if it's another trial day or am I starting work on Monday. I haven't heard back from them, and I'm supposed to go tmrw. My sister is telling me I shouldn't go tomorrow, and that they didn't specify if I'm actually accepted…

Complicated HR Question-Need Help

I work in Finance and have ADHD. For a period of nine months there has been a nationwide shortage of my standard medication. I had to go on a Leave of Absence which was documented by HR and went back for a time on a substitute. Well, while on the substitute I messed up about 70 client records. I didn't think anything of it because I hit a button where I said I didn't talk to the client, then inadvertently hit one where it said I did, and then all following notes and clicks were hit to show that I didn't speak to the client and complete a survey. Problem is, that's one of the metrics we use for our bonuses. After being properly medicated, I noticed my number s were off and I SELF REPORTED. I was naive. They paid me for four days while they looked into the…

My shortest job ever

Once upon a time I was struggling to make money so I figured let's get another part time job that I can do before my main part time job. I applied for a cleaning job in a gym and got hired. So they had me train on both locations. I already hated the way logging in worked. It was with finger prints and you could not sign out 5 min late or early. Anyway I got allong fine with the permanent lady (let's call her PL) I was working with. She showed me how to clean the showers and what solutions to use (she was very specific which how many on what days to use the soap or acid) Then she had off over the holidays and I was going to do her tasks for those days. I was on a 0 hour contract just filling in when people were…

I was fired directly prior to annual bonus

So this is a strange one but I'm after reading a lot of posts on this sub I'm definitely curious to ask if any of you have input. I was fired at the very end of February, two weeks prior to our annual bonuses being paid which are based on the prior calendar year's work and contribute to that year's compensation, etc. I was accused of some very false things and also was the target of a vendetta by a direct report above me. When the HR conversations came, I was led to believe that the person directly told them to fire me and also discovering immediately after that bonuses were paid, I also believe I was terminated to save what would have been a $16k bonus (which consequently was paid to my replacement they promoted who had a bonus structure that would've yielded $8k, and saving them that amount…

I wish I knew this place a few years ago

Reading through various posts here, it made me think of my own unfortunate encounters. For a few years I worked at a superstore gathering carts. I felt I wasn't getting anywhere, so I went to another superstore with higher pay and hoped to have a less physically demanding job. I applied, got the interview, and learned that they lied on the listing and I would be gathering carts. Nay, not just that, but I had to clean the toilets once every hour. They offered me a cashier job, but only if I finish the first week of this job. I walked out. If I knew about this place, I would have turned down the initial job at the interview. I didn't have the spine… Afterwards, during the pandemic, I tried getting a job as customer service for an online retailer. We had to go through a four day training course,…
