Cheated by our CEO

After a dozen years being employed by the same company, being a good employee, and having my direct manager leave suddenly, I’ve received a promotion. It’s been the norm when converting from hourly to salary to pay out PTO. Even thought I was 6 weeks past my review, the CEO backdated my promotion to a few days before my anniversary date and has decided to not pay out the PTO that I already would have received. My pay raise was meager and I figured the pto payout would compensate. Lesson learned never trust anyone ask for a full compensation breakdown.
