Make it make sense.
Hired “…because of my skillset, not just the project.” This is what I was told when I was asked during the interview what my priority is and I responded, “Job security.”
Need to change my approach to my career. Bc of my skill set I need to spend the rest of it with 5-10 hours a week dedicated to searching for the next thing. I get hit up all the time by recruiters looking for 3 months, 6 months, 10 months and that seems to be how it works for what I do…despite how they sell it during the interview process. Project obligation fulfillment with the *hope* that the biz development department will have something ready when it's done.
To win, I have to figure out a way to make (SenorPea) a contracting company and not an employee so that this is MY advantage, not theirs.
Regarding the house, I got lots of first time home buying assistance from the state and the bank, so I was able to scrape together enough money for what I needed to get in. Mortgage is only slightly more than what rent was and I did it because while scary, it makes for the right decision for all the reasons you have likely already heard.
Holy fuck, y'all. What a day.
TL:DR = title
