Co-workers husband threatened me

The office’s secretary got her husband to call and threaten me. Essentially, we have an office secretary who is out of control. However the director is fond of her as she is young and attractive. Essentially, we have an office secretary who is out of control. However the director is fond of her as she is young and attractive.

The secretary was supposed to send emails to committee members for me. She got a giant attitude about doing it. Later that evening her husband called me and threatened me. As my wife and I were walking our dog.

She has told my boss that she had no idea her husband did this (how does he know my name, phone number, or why to call me) and that she is “upset because her mom has cancer.”

My boss seems inclined to accept this story from her and wants to know what I think can be done so we can move past this without anyone getting fired. He seems to be willing to make some concessions, but does not seem interested in firing her.

The problem is, I think she should automatically be fired. I am seeking an employment attorney, but what should I do in the mean time? How can I believe that she won’t try to retaliate against me in other ways? This incident feels like baggage that will always stay with me as long as she is there, and I like my job outside of this incident.
