Working with a US-based company. Part of the policy is that any leaves exceeding 5 days need to be requested 1 month prior, which is what I did.
Yesterday, I was put on a PIP due to my mental health affecting my performance. As I need the money to take care of my parents, I reluctantly accepted it.
Part of the benefits we have is 4 company-sanctioned days off of our choosing. I will be travelling on August 29, so I naturally set my schedule up to have 29 and 30 off from those days.
Today, my team leader informs me that since I'm on PIP, all those leaves are cancelled. Also, they informed me that I am not allowed to take more than 10 consecutive days off, and my travel puts that on 11.
I've been planning to take a hiatus off work to work on my mental health and weight. Besides, I've already made all my travel arrangements already, and I'm 100% firm on those commitments, considering 2 days of this trip will be dead anyway (departure and arrival).
It's an employer's market here, so I'm heavily considering quitting. An alternative is to tell them not to pay me on those two days, but their move has left such a bad taste in my mouth.
