Company Withholding Bonus

So I’m leaving my job to go back to school. My last day is August 9th and they just announced the yearly bonus to be paid out after the end of the fiscal year (August 31st). Last year when a friend left they tried to withhold the bonus from her (although in her case she put in her notice after the announcement) but she fought with them until they gave it to her. Are they allowed to not give me the bonus (see second slide)? If not, what can I argue to get it?
