My company only pays people for the actual holiday but they don’t pay people for the day after if it falls on a Thursday. Because it’s the end of the year I’ve already used my pto for vacation and being sick since they don’t have paid sick days. I have rent next week so I can’t afford to take Friday off. Most people took Friday off that have some pto left or a vacation day. My boss told me today that to be cost effective they are thinking about just shutting the plant down since not too many people would be coming in Friday. Now I have to lose out on money, and be stressed about my bills next week.
