I just need to rant and vent about them a bit.
My husband (22M) has had a bad run with construction companies. The first company he was with for a year and he genuinely loved them as he was the first employee that they hired. However due to some Karen, the company was getting sued and decided to cut my husband’s hourly rate by almost 50%. He got a week notice, but was able to find a job relatively quickly, so it didn’t affect us too much.
Cut to the next company, he got the job through a temp agency and the company told him that they wanted to hire him directly after his contract was up. Once again though, my husband lost his job. This time with no notice, he was one for thirty individuals that was let go.
The temp agency said they would be calling back on Monday, the company decided Friday to let them all go and then called Saturday to tell everyone, but they never called. We were looking for jobs independently because the temp agency wasn’t great at finding jobs for their temps once assignments were over and would get mad at people for calling them when they didn’t reach back.
My husband was able to find another job after weeks of applying and waiting to hear back. It’s with a moving company that advertised itself as a full time job, but my husband has worked there for two weeks and has only worked for 24 hours. None of the jobs have been the full time he’s been scheduled for, like he’ll be scheduled for an eight hour shift and will work maybe 6 hours.
We’re probably going to be short on bills this month, are desperately looking for a different job and door-dashing to try to make ends meet. All of these other issues are popping up ever since my husband lost his job and I’m sick of these construction companies screwing us over.
Sorry for the long post, I’m just so stressed about life right now.
