My current contract to hire role that i have been with for a year has decided to convert me to a Full-time employee. I have been working through a temp agency for two years. I am currently a Senior Healthcare Data Analyst with 6 years of experience. Originally i was getting paid $50/hr but when they extended my contract at the six month period to further review me i requested a raise through the tempy agency and got $54/hr.
Now that i am being converted, i started doing research and am conflicted about how to approach things…
- The average pay for my career in my area is 126ish at the 50th percentile and i took a lower pay even as a contractor because i needed the job. Unfortunately though, i was able to find the salary range for this position through an opening currently available on their site and its 80-96k.
- I asked a current employee what she was making ( we are super cool) and she claims she makes 90k even though she has been there for 8 years….
- However, I also found information that someone on https://h1bdata.info/ is being paid 106k last year and i know it is a new hire as well since it states where its from and i know where he is located and personally i feel i have proven myself to be a more capable analyst than him.
- I also know from the temp agent that ive worked with for two years that he is charging the firm $70/hr for my services, which comes to 145k.
I expect them to attempt to hit me with a 90k offer and then claim benefits are the reason but i do not value benefits enough to take such a ridiculous cut.
So my question is this: If i am making 112k, the temp agency is charging 145k, and i feel that the reason they extended an offer is because they have seen me as an excellent candidate, then what is a good number to ask for during negotiations that seems better from HR's perspective to accept rather than decline and pay a further premium through the temp agency and invest another year in another client instead?
