I started a new job. It has been overwhelming since day one but I don't give up easily. I understand the concept of my position but Im new to the role and the processes are very conflicting. I'm being pulled in so many directions with poor training because my supervisors are overwhelmed. They want me to focus for 12 hours but they are distracting me constantly. My deadlines even preceed the data required to complete the task. I'm stuck in the middle between demands to have my data inputs completed and no data to input. When I finally get the data I'm squeezed and expected to work late. It's like everyone gave me their own worst task and truth be told, it was a steep learning curve. I ended up so stressed that my blood pressure sky rocketed and my immunity tanked. As soon as the weekend came and I was off work, I would be sick in bed or the hospital. I have burnt myself out many times but it's to the point that is either my health or getting let go. This is not a life. It is unfair of corporations to be so demanding they steal your health in your little bit of time off. Everyone should demand better so we don't all suffer. Within 2 weeks of commencement, I was so depleted, I had no energy left to look for alternate employment. Then when I couldn't meet unreasonable expectations, it felt like I would have no references when applying for a new job. How do you succeed?
