Corporate is about to learn an expensive lesson

I was hired into a new grad nursing program. I was offered a spot in the ICU. After just 7 weeks of training (training is usually 12-16 weeks), I was called on my day off and told it wasn’t working out and I was being fired. I had made no med errors, harmed no patients, had no near misses, or anything to warrant being fired. Apparently they wanted me to be ready to care for critically ill patients after just 7 weeks of training. Thankfully there is a union for the nurses. After appealing the wrongful termination, I’ll be getting my job back, WITH back pay, plus any PTO that would have been accrued. I basically got 9 weeks of paid vacation plus get additional training time when I return. I cannot speak highly enough of the protections a union can give the working class. Fuck those corporate assholes.
