Could eliminating work and “well-regulated” automation help with the loneliness crisis?

We all know that mental health has taken a toll in recent years and it’s related to our stressful work culture. One of the big reasons why it’s harder to make friends as an adult is simply because of work and responsibilities. What would happen if we successfully eliminated work and we regulated automation well enough that everyone could live stress free? Cause eliminating work might mean more time for each other to cultivate relationships. A skill many of us now lack. I’m cynical that it would happen like this. We might get dystopic automation. But it’s a thought.
