obligatory apology for mobile post. I started feeling ill Wednesday last week, took a covid test and was positive Thursday, and I ended up not being needed at work anyways and no work Friday. Only called in Monday (Yesterday). I called HR today and they said 1. I need to come in and take a test there for my absence to be excused and 2. since my symptoms started Wednesday I only get 5 days (So until Monday) of excused time before I need a doctors note. So they want me to go in for the doctor to say “yeah she has covid and is to sick to work” after I just handed them a positive test. I’m getting better and will be fine soon but my job involves a lot of physical labor and being on my feet which I am just not quite up for yet. I’m still having a bunch of symptoms and I just want to rest for one more day. I’ve literally only called in one day for covid, came all the way there just to prove I have it just for them to say “nah you’ll still get a point if you stay home lol”. Is there anything I can do? they used to offer paid time off if you were all the way vaccinated, which I am and that is the whole reason I got vaccinated. They recently changed it so you don’t get paid and get max 5 days before you start getting points. It just makes me mad, if there’s nothing I can do it’s whatever, I won’t get fired or anything I just wanted to save my points.
