I work at a daycare that cares for children from infant through to kindergarten. One of my coworkers came to work with COVID and took the next day off so I had to cover in their room.
I told my supervisor my partner was immuno-compromised and that I felt uncomfortable covering in their place.
They had me wear a mask and finish the day, and now I’m testing positive and can’t go in all week. I have to quarantine in a different house as well.
I’m a wage worker and won’t get paid all week which I can’t afford because my paycheck = my bills. I’m frustrated that they didn’t close the room, notify parents, or alter staffing.
