Coworker telling me:

That, at my new job I just got yesterday as an office manager through a temp-agency/firm, I need to contact all of the company bosses on TEAMs and do as many projects as I can for them to “standout” .. for $17.50 🤣, when the temp agency scalpers finesse probably $5-$15 off of what I should actually be getting paid. And that I should do my best to “standout” to them, so that they, after 90days, “convert me over” to their staff. I have an office, employee ID, work-email, everything like that. They want me to process onboarding information, badging, etc .. which, tbh, I don’t mind the experience for, but they’re funny if they think I’m going to go out of my way and solicit tedious projects for shit that isn’t even in my job description (office manager/admin assistant) from people who aren’t my boss. My only boss is one man I take orders from who I will do work for because it’s what was told to me, I’m not going to be doing it for all of his other employees for $17.50. Just like “act your age”, I “act my wage”.

I plan to stay here for at least 3-6mo to gain some experience and move over, claim that I’m leaving bc they won’t convert me (or that I want more economic mobility with a bigger company).

My coworker also said that I should come in from 8-5, take an hour lunch unpaid, instead of my 9-5, no lunch. I can pretty much each at my desk, lol.

Recent Uni grad.

Thoughts? Lol.
