Coworkers with same job role received COVID pay

A few months ago, my coworkers I work with both got COVID. They were out about a week and they mentioned that the company (although they told them not to share) paid for some of their sick days out of “generosity”. Fast-forward to recently where my whole family got COVID for more than a week. I was out of work and worked about 1/10th of my hours remotely (also due to shortage of work). Although I never expect handouts, it’s kind of a slap in the face that I was completely ignored but they helped out others in the same job role. I’m avoiding emailing the HR lead (small company, everyone knows each other) due to possibly going off in frustration. Any advice? Edit: work in texas
