Cursed out interviewer

So finding a job has been difficult. I was let go from my previous job in March and will be out of unemployment in August. I found a great job posting on Indeed that was great. I knew I was fully capable of doing the job. It was a confidential company, small business. The pay was a lot less than my previous salary, but it was still good money by a long shot. I get ready and right at that moment this guy walks in, the owner of the company, a brother about my age. The background blurs her out, but you can tell she's working in a messy bedroom with clothes on the floor. He had emailed me at 4:30 in the morning so I know he's probably busy and I appreciate that.

He is a dick, offensive and almost argumentative with his responses to my responses. He tells me, “You're not what I imagined for the role.” I said, “Well, I can tell we'll be working closely together and you're really busy, I noticed your email at 4:30. What was your idea for this role, what are your expectations?” He asked me what I meant, and I said, “You've stated that I'm not what you think I am for the role, so what do you need?”

He starts with how he can't have anyone wanting to climb a corporate ladder before he can provide that upward mobility. I said it's good that I've done corporate management and my main reason for this job is I want to get out of that rat race. He had asked me to answer some pre-interview questions the day before, so I wrote a nice email detailing my past accomplishments and goals.

One of the goals that came up was the family. I am currently taking care of my mom while she lives with me and my new husband during chemotherapy. We want a family one day but we haven't had a really hard fertility battle.

I ignored it, but he said again how he couldn't have someone go on maternity leave and leave his job to someone else to pick me up. He is a small business and has no manpower. Not wanting to pay short term disability… he just started saying a bunch of wild and inappropriate things.

So I cut him off and gave him a piece of my mind. Along the lines of, hey listen, I don't think this is going to work. Frankly, you were an idiot from the moment we started this interview. Luckily for you I can't get pregnant, but it wasn't very good anyway. you are crazy

He looked stunned and when I finished the session he started muttering “wow”.

Damn man, I can't believe I have to spend about 40 years doing this.
