Cut Regular Hours to Make an OT Event Shit Regular Pay?

Without giving much details, a company that I work for, 4 days a week, 10 hours a day had a company wide work event happening on a Sunday which was 7 hours long. One of the managers who makes the schedule, scheduled 3 of us with reduced hours the first day back after the event. After seeing this I sent an email to them asking what was happening and was told “It will lessen the OT for the event but not absorb the entire time that you will spend at the event.” Basically cut my hours for one week to make the day I come in, on the weekend, regular pay, while everyone else is getting OT. I did not go to the event.
