I thought I hit the jackpot when I started working for this company 3 years ago. The team was amazing. The CEO was all about transparency. The job was remote and flexible. I thought I was doing so well. This year has been rough on the company- that's been no secret. My boss got laid off in the spring- she got a text message and one week notice. It was awful. I stepped up and did everything for the department. On 10/31 at 5pm, 20 minutes before I was about to take our son trick-or-treating, I get a text that it was my last day, my department was being discontinued. I got no notice, no severance, not even a damn phone call. Within 20 minutes I was locked out of everything. So much for transparency! I thought I was turning things around! I had just made two major placements (staffing agency) the week before and had several new projects I was working on. Our entire family was on my insurance and we lost it that day. We now have to pray nothing happens this month because we can't get insurance until December now. And to think I thought they truly cared…
