Denied Pay Raise Need Advice
We had a Salary Based Performance Update late last year.
The metrics achieve determine our salary. I signed the document emailed it to us acknowledging the pay structure. I was due a pay raise at the beginning of this month for the past 6 months work (January-June). In July they changed the promotion structure. We still have yet to be notified what the new structure is, but only the top performers were given a raise although they already capped out at the limit they could receive.
I met the criteria to be promoted based on the metrics I received Jan-June.
I believe that the document I signed was a promise to pay based on work I provide. I provided the work, but am being denied the raise due to the new pay structure that was “setup” and not disclosed a month after the metrics were completed. Employer is saying that they are only guidelines that are no longer in effect although that's not what the initial document said.
I am very annoyed, because I feel that because I wasn't in the top 2 of a team of 12. I was denied my raise due to the “new guidelines”. I feel that the agents agreed to a certain amount and that they were paid that. I understand wanting to reward them for exemplary work however I do not think my raise should have been denied.
Any advice?
