Talked to my boss about a week ago about a trip I have to take in October. Said I would be gone about two weeks. She said sounds fine, just request it off. Once I made all the financial decisions I decided I’d only be gone for 8 days, requested it off, got denied. I am preparing for when I talk to her in person.
I believe she will meet me with aggression behind her decision to deny me. A little background, I work at a very large restaurant, and don’t believe me being gone for 8 days will be too much of a stress for the rest of the staff to cover. On top of that I have a good relationship with my boss and the rest of staff, but it’s a money making machine so I am not surprised they are pulling this crap.
What strategies can I leverage here? Would hate to quit this restaurant, but willing to if needed.
