I want to say, if this is the wrong place…I'm sorry in advance.
I can't believe this has happened to me, but my boss was discussing her ex-husband with a co worker and myself. She had made mention previously about him having a stroke and not having much mobility(In a wheelchair now). Today after showing us a picture of her grandkids, I asked her how the fishing rod her son made worked out for her ex-husband. She said he loved it. Then proceeded to talk more about his condition. She said he struggles to talk, but swears a lot. The conversation seems just fine. Until she tells us what swear word he is always using. And I quote. Right in front of me. She casually says he says “Fuckin' N” all the time. I couldn't believe my ears. I have not mentioned my race, but I am Black. I was too stunned to say a word. And was thinking if I heard her correctly. Upon my gasp and a twisted facd…she responds “Yeah, not nice.” This woman has had multiple children, now fully grown with kids with this person. How is this not a reflection of you? I don't know what to do at this point. I am u comfortable, and we have had issues between us in the past from her treatment of me. Now I'm thinking there's more to her behavior than just “a boss being a jerk.”
What the heck do I do now….
