I was thinking about how …
People are conditioned to Automatically think a salary below a certain amount will be unfulfilling and painful. Assuming anything below _____ ‘perceived poverty line’ will be unbearable. But what if the jobs that pay a “proper” salary are what would be unbearable for me…
everyone’s different – the same challenges don’t bother some people and other challenges bother them a ton!
So the view of – “of course poverty sucks! Why would you accept that!?” – isn’t applied correctly.
Yes, poverty sucks.
But what if for me, working for a well paying corporation I’d be depressed and hate my life so much that I derailed my life, declining until I eventually killed myself in my mansion.
Instead, I could have been working for the Conservation Corps working out in the mountains, replanting trees for $600 a week living in my car and tent, with no money for a house, shower, AC…. going to the food bank, not buying new clothes, -but happy and content with my life.
Like why do people look down on this outlook so much? What’s wrong with this thinking? Where is the flaw??
