Disgusting hierarchical practice at work…

I work in a prestigious organization at the capital (of Pakistan) and as we were all waiting for the elevator to come down so we can get on it. An old senior executive came, skipped the line (this isn't the issue as there's not much rush so almost everyone gets on the elevator) and then nobody was allowed to get on the elevator with him. Another employee who was trying to go up, had one of the elevator operators put up his hand physically to stop him and tell him to not share the elevator. This weird God complex really made my stomach turn.
