I've got some interviews planned, and I currently am at an impasse with telling them my current wage. I respect transparency and have sometimes told them my wage and also FMV expectations for the role. I have an idea of the payband only with Indeeds estimate at the moment. I get thrown off and don't know what to say when they ask salary expectations, and I'm afraid that I may default to running the numbers out loud and selling myself short of a better wage. Of course, I can always counter-offer.
Do I tell them? What do I say when they ask my salary expectations? How do I pivot? Do I ask them the salary on a panel interview?
Also, I have a salary, bonuses, and expect a 5% raise in 2024. How do I navigate this?
