I hate my current job but love my coworkers. When I received a life changing job offer, I couldn’t help but cry thinking about leaving my current coworkers. They’ve really become my second family. I’d say my bosses, on some sort of level, have also become like family.
My bosses are a married couple and they’re currently on vacation together. They won’t be back until the end of the week and I’m expecting to receive my written offer sometime today or tomorrow.
To be honest, Im not really stressed about giving my formal resignation as I am telling my coworkers I’m leaving the company in a couple of weeks.
But I shouldn’t tell my coworkers I’m leaving until I tell my bosses right? While they are a second family, I don’t know if I can entirely trust that they wouldn’t send our bosses an email.
Me leaving is going to absolutely screw over everyone so I feel bad about that but I work for my own well being, not theirs.
Should I start just preparing as if I put in my resignation? Should I tell HR non-formally? Should I tell the closest coworkers? Do I just stay silent until my bosses come back?
ETA: HR is one person and is one of my bosses left hand woman. She will absolutely tell the bosses immediately
