I was recently promoted to management but my promotion is still under wraps until my boss lets the team know at our next department meeting. When I told one of my close colleagues who I consider a friend he jokingly said I guess we can’t talk or be friends anymore. I took it for the joke it is but it made me think will it be unprofessional to talk to them about work the way I did before the promotion? Or do I have to keep my opinion of the company to myself now?
