“Leaders” vs. “People in Leadership Positions”

For me, words have meanings. I know a lot of people are like, “you know what i mean.” and it's fine. I'm not hating on anyone. For me, I try to choose my words that mean exactly what I want to say. I fail often. But it's a core value. Sometimes I meet others who also value it. I worked with a guy. a company man. did what he was told, busted his ass, etc. smart guy. One day in a meeting I heard him talk about how “'people in leadership positions' have made the decision that yada yada yada.” Or “'people in leadership positions' believe our current direction must be changed.” I went to him privately after hearing it couple times and asked him. “Hey, so you never say 'leaders' you always say 'people in leadership positions.' He said, “yeah, this company has no leaders. these people couldn't lead…

He said, “yeah, this company has no leaders. these people couldn't lead anything.”
