Tipping was invented by the rich to continue paying workers shit wages with the promise of tips being a big portion of their pay. I’ll tip for good service, but I don’t wanna be pressured into tipping for just buying some fries at a fast food joint. That little iPad screen they show you and they say “There’s just a quick question on there for ya”. I get annoyed every time because there’s no guarantee my tip even goes to the employee I’m talking to.
I get it. Service industry workers RELY on tips a lot of the time, I was there too. I just don’t have the extra money to give right. I’m poor too. So stop feeling guilted into tipping people and start asking why huge companies are ok with expecting other people to pay their staff.
