Dress codes (rant/vent)

I hate them for so many reasons. I can understand from a safety perspective, or just not looking totally unkempt/inappropriate (bathing suits, clear transparent chaps, etc), whatever. But for the most part, all they do is create additional divide and additional discrimination based on income levels, gender, race, and so on. Plus, like…it’s 2023, why are we still policing what employees wear in the summer? No shorts…? What, knees are taboo? Oh wait but what about skirts? It’s just stupid. I feel like most jobs are just enforcing this because That’s How It’s Always Been. Yes this is mostly a vent post based on recent personal experience. Also, I just really like shorts, I guess. Discuss.
